We are delighted to confirm that Simon Day and Conor Tobin have now joined the OFFLOAD team.

Simon Day is joining us from mid-July and will be working on OFFLOAD as part of the ‘Cultural Leadership Programme’ he is undertaking in association with Fierce, Birmingham. Simon has extensive experience in organizing and participating in theatre and live art events and is the director of B-Theatre B-Thetare, Birmingham. He is particularly interested in public, outdoor and participatory practices. Simon considers OFFLOAD as an opportunity to gain experiences in new approaches to media and public art curation practices. For OFFLOAD Simon will be extensively working with the core production team, conceptually supporting the finalizing of the programme and on the day-to-day running of OFFLOAD.

.

Conor Tobin, is a recent graduate from University College Dublin, where he studied History and Philosophy. As a student he specifically studied imperialism and its affects on the modern world and the contemporary philosophical, realism versus anti-realism, debate. A budding journalist, outside of his studies he also developed his interest in creative writing. Conor will be joining the OFFLOAD team, as an interim, working directly with artists and on OFFLOAD publicity.

We also met with Bridget Crone, Director of Bath Media Arts. Bath Media Arts are coming onboard and supporting the project in kind by providing equipment resources and working with us on our ‘pocket’ panel discussions. Following on from our meeting-of-minds with Active Ingredient, Nottingham at the Enter_ Festival, we are now working closely with Watershed to bring the group to Bristol as part of OFFLOAD. Rachel and Matt from Active Ingredient joined Teresa and Kathy, Polar Produce and Clare Reddington for a meeting at the end of May and we’re looking forward to the group showing ‘Ere Be Dragons as part of OFFLOAD
